LADWP Offering New Attic Insulation Rebates

People tend to think of home insulation as being more important in cold weather, but it also plays a big role in keeping homes cool when the weather’s hot…something we’ve been experiencing a lot of in the last couple of months.

To help its residential customers learn more about the importance of home insulation, and to make their homes as energy-efficient and comfortable as possible no matter what the season, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power recently launched a new Attic Insulation Rebate Program, covering up to 80 percent of the cost of attic insulation materials and installation, up to $1 per sq. ft.

According to the DWP, new attic insulation can help LA residents save between $200 to $375 per year on electric bills, or 15-30% of their annual cooling and heating expenses.

For the full program details and an application, see www.ladwp.com/CRP .  Please note that customers are strongly advised to confirm their eligibility before purchasing their insulation materials.  Applications are to be filled out, however, after the materials have been purchased and installed. All applications must be postmarked within 12 months of the insulation purchase date.
