Larchmont Barber Shop is Leaving the Street in December

The Larchmont Barber Shop is leaving Larchmont Blvd. at the end of the year.

Seems like the end of an era – when residents could pop in and get their hair cut from the local Larchmont barber.  The Larchmont Barber Shop is leaving Larchmont Blvd. at the end of year.

According to owner George Hilario, Christina Development, the new owner of the building, offered him the option to stay while the company renovates the building…but the rent exceeded what Hilario thought he could afford, and he didn’t want his customers to be inconvenienced by construction dust.

Hopefully, Hilario will find a new location in the neighborhood. He told the Buzz this morning that he is looking for a new shop nearby, which could offer customers the same convenience of his Larchmont location.

Hilario took over the shop in April 2013 from Jerry Cottone, who ran it for more than 50 years.

We will keep you posted on any news we hear on the Larchmont Barber Shop’s new location. In the meantime, the shop is open if you want to stop by. We’re sure they’d love to serve you.
