The Los Angeles Times reports that actress Barbara Bain has sold her home in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles for $1.675 million. Bain, 85, has sold her 1,750 square foot Spanish-style house, built in the 1920s. She purchased the home seven years ago for $1.499 million, according to the Times.
In other local real estate discussions, legendary chef, restauranteur, cook book author and local Hancock Park resident Nancy Silverton told the LA Times recently that her favorite place to entertain is the backyard of her four-bedroom, 3,000 square foot Windsor Square home (the Times located the home in “Hancock Park,” though it’s really in Windsor Square…something that happens frequently with the two neighborhoods!)
In the short Q&A, Silverton talks about her entertaining in her home of 23 years, and particularly in her beloved backyard. If you are lucky enough to be invited for a party and wonder what to bring, take note…
“I almost never allow anyone to bring anything to my house besides wine,” Silverton said. “Cookies are OK. I’m not a fan of potlucks. I prefer to do all the cooking.”
