Celebrity designers Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent, have listed their recently remodeled Spanish Revival Hancock Park mansion for $13.795 million. They purchased the almost 8,500 square foot home on Rimpau Boulevard, which was built in 1928 by Edwin S. Rowley, from television producer Marta Kaufman and her former husband composer Michael Skloff in an $8 million off-market sale that we reported in 2016.
The recently updated home was featured in Architectural Digest earlier this month. According to AD, the designers only made “cosmetic” changes to the property.
“We were lucky that the house was in great condition,” Berkus told AD. “It had been looked after.” Changes that the couple made to the home included installing floors of antique marble to mark off points of entry and transition; replacing fireplace mantels and hardware with antique models; stripping, bleaching, and waxing the existing mahogany paneling in the dining room; adding new fixtures and surfaces to the eat-in kitchen; and outfitting the home’s many rooms in a distinctly Berks-Brent style—that is to say, in neutral tones with a hint of rustic charm,” reported Architectural Digest.

“Measuring in at 8,477 square feet, the dwelling, which was built in 1928 by prolific Los Angeles builder Edwin S. Rowley, holds a wealth of sumptuous features: a dramatic foyer with 17th-century marble floors; five bedroom suites, including a master with double walk-in closets; a paneled library; a screening room; and a formal dining room with coffered ceilings.
The home sits on 0.66 acres, and the grounds are equally beautiful. Among the stand-outs are a detached five-room guest house, a 200-year-old oak tree, an outdoor fireplace, and a harlequin-patterned pool deck,” reported Curbed LA.
