The end of one year and beginning of another is always a good time to look back and reflect. So we went back into our archives to see what you were reading on the Buzz in 2016…and over time since we started publishing. In general, our findings confirmed what we’ve long known – our readers love (and love to share, which boosts readership) stories about local real estate, celebrities, schools, retail comings and goings, crime and traffic issues, and special events.
From January 1 through December 31, the 20 most-read Buzz stories published in 2016 were:

Of course, some stories can live on long after their original publication date, and several of our all-time top posts are what journalists call “evergreen” – they’ll always be topical and are still racking up readership, long after their original publication. In fact, the Buzz’s all-time number-one post, which still gets plenty of hits from people looking for the subject on search engines, is…(drum roll, please)…So You’ve Got a Batchelder Fireplace? What Does that Mean?, written by long-time Buzz contributor Chase Campen on November 16, 2013.
We look forward to bringing you more local and Larchmont Buzz in 2017…and we hope you’ll keep reading!
