Brookside Continues Caroling Tradition

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus visited Brookside Homeowners Association’s annual evening of Merriment and Holiday Caroling

Despite the drizzly night, almost 100 Brookside residents celebrated the holiday at the neighborhood’s annual evening holiday caroling party with special guests Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus this past Sunday evening.

“This year, we changed the event a little bit, because we have so many new families with young children in the neighborhood,” Brookside HOA Communication Chair Loren Dunsworth told the Buzz. “We invited children to meet Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus and bring their letters and wish lists. Because of the wet weather, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus were inside the house. We served sweet treats, mulled wine, rum egg nog and hot chocolate at tables set up in the street. Everyone alternated taking turns visiting Santa and taking rides around the block in the carriage.”

Since the pandemic, Dunsworth explained, everyone has really enjoyed meeting in the street. The caroling party was no different.

“We always have a fabulous summer block party,” said Dunsworth. “We were just trying to bring that same spirit to the caroling event, especially since we have so many new families that moved into the neighborhood over the past two years. Brookside has such a wonderful neighborhood feeling and everyone was really happy to be out in the street celebrating the upcoming holidays.”
