Spring 2014 Registration is now open for Wilshire Softball, fast pitch softball for girls ages 5-12 in Hancock Park, Hollywood, Mid-Wilshire and surrounding areas.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis year, the league is introducing some exciting new programs and partnerships, including becoming the “little sister league” to UCLA Softball, a national winner in Women’s NCAA softball. The UCLA-Wilshire softball partnership will kick off in late January with a full day clinic for the entire Wilshire league, hosted by UCLA’s Head Coach Kelly Inouye-Perez, assistant coaches Lisa Fernandez (3-time Gold Medal Olympian) and Kirk Walker, and members of the UCLA Softball team.  Wilshire players will learn the mechanics of offense and defense, pitching and catching, mental training, and more, and get an opportunity to see a hitting demonstration by the Bruins. Wilshire girls will have the opportunity to meet the UCLA players and start little sister/big sister relationships that will carry throughout the entire season.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Wilshire Girls Softball spring season begins in early February and runs through April with practices during the week and games every Saturday, followed by an All-Stars season for top players in each age group with tournaments all over Southern California. Practices and games are held at Lemon Grove and Queen Anne parks, both only minutes from the greater Wilshire/Hancock Park area.
Registration for the spring season is open now and spaces are expected to fill up fast.
