Yesterday, we posted about story about the benefits of summer camp, so today we thought we’d mention a Hancock Park camp that’s open to all kids who play tennis or are interested in learning to play tennis, perhaps inspired by the sport’s most notable professional tournament, Wimbledon, currently being played in England.
The Los Angeles Tennis Club, located in Hancock Park, has opened its summer camp, for kids ages 6 to 14, to non-members.
“We welcome kids of all skill levels,” said Jerome Peri, Head Tennis Pro and director of the summer camp. “For the youngest players, we offer an introduction to tennis. with games and fun activities, and for the more advanced players, we teach skills, run drills, introduce game strategy and match play.”
LATC offers camp daily from 9 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Campers take a break at 10:30 a.m. and are requested to bring their own snack. Â Athletic wear and sneakers are required. Loaner racquets are available for students who don’t have one.
Registration is available by the week or by the day. The fee for non-members is $600 a week or $120 a day. Camp runs through August 27. Email Jerome Peri at [email protected] for more information and registration. Advance registration is required. No refunds are offered after registration.
You never know who will be the next Wimbledon champ!
