Buddha’s Belly – Closing Friday

According to, Buddha’s Belly – the Asian Fusion restaurant on Beverly Boulevard is closing at the end of the shift on Friday. The restaurant, known for it’s calming ambiance and great happy hours, had a ten year run.

There’s no word on what will move into the space. Long time neighbors will remember that the location was home to an Italian eatery called Rosti Tuscan Kitchen before Buddha’s Belly started it’s successful run. – Final Word on Subject of Beverly Boulevard’s Buddha’s Belly Shutter


Hollywood Canteen
The space that was formerly the restaurant Hollywood Canteen will be home to RAO’s starting Monday.

And while we’re at it…one more local restaurant is in the news. This time the story is a positive one…

RAO’s Hollywood Opens Next Week

RAO’s, the 10 table, 117 year-old East Harlem Italian restuarant is ready to open a Hollywood location in the space that was formerly home to the Hollywood Canteen on Seward, south of Santa Monica Boulevard. The target date for opening is Tuesday, September 17th…but you can make a reservation now by calling 323-962-7267.

RAO’s – getting ready to open September 17th!

While the menu will be similar to what you would find in New York, seats shouldn’t be quite as difficult to come by. The new RAO’s Hollywood has 95 seats with seating both indoors and outdoors – on a lovely secluded patio in the back. RAO’s chef is Nicole Grimes, semi-finalist for the 2013 James Beard Rising Star Chef of the Year Award.
