New Larchmont Poster

Seasons Greetings from Larchmont Merchants 1955. Tthe newest “Windows of Larchmont” poster commentating our street’s centennial is now in the window at 212 N. Larchmont Blvd.

There is a new poster illustrating the history of Larchmont at the former Trina Turk store at 212 N. Larchmont Blvd. It’s part of the ongoing “Windows of Larchmont” project, commemorating the history of our neighborhood street as we mark its centennial. Larchmont has been home to a range of businesses since it was developed around 1921 by Julia La Bonte to serve the surrounding neighborhoods.

The newest poster features an image of Larchmont taken in 1955. It features a picturesque view of Larchmont Blvd. with holiday greetings hanging from the railway lines of the Los Angeles Railway LARY 3 Line cars, which operated along Third Street and Larchmont Blvd. The photo was provided by the Larchmont Chronicle to this writer for the cover of the book “Larchmont” by Arcadia Press and available for sale at Chevalier’s Books.

Thanks to Charles Hess Design, the UPS store on Larchmont for printing the posters on its large format printer at a reduced price, and Gina St. Aubin, from the office of building owner Ron Simms, for helping us display the poster. Check out our other posters at the soon to open Tailwaggers, the new pet grooming and retail store at 147 North Larchmont Blvd.
