Larchmont is undergoing a bit of a food transformation with 3 new restaurants opening in a 10 day period. And whether or not you like every one of them, one thing is for sure – there’s a lot of convenient choices catering to our neighborhood.
Lemonade – 626 North Larchmont Boulelvard, M-Su 11am-8pm
Lemonade opened on Friday, March 1st. The LA chain bills itself as Seasonal Southern California Comfort Food in a fast-casual cafeteria setting…and if anyone ever wondered how to get more space out of the former 1920s style bungalow, the folks at Lemonade figured it out and packed it full of healthy eats. Additionally, the outside patio was widened allowing for lots of great outdoor seating.
It’s great to see the place full again! Just looking at the freshly renovated eatery makes us want to be healthy…could possibly be our new bike destination on the weekends.
Chipotle – 5201 Beverly Boulevard, M-Su 11am-10pm
Chipotle opened on Wednesday, March 6th – and if opening day lines are any indication it’s going to be a popular spot. We notice that drivers along Beverly and Larchmont through that intersection will have to be more alert to pedestrian traffic…who knew that burritos would be the bridge between the two sides of Larchmont!
The GWNC will be discussing Chipotle’s application for a full liquor license at the March 26th Land Use Committee Meeting. The matter will move from the Land Use Meeting to further discussion at the April 10th GWNC Board Meeting. Chipotle filed the permit for a full liquor license on February 21st with the City of LA. For those unfamiliar with Chipotle’s, many of their locations offer bottled beer as a beverage choice.
The Larchmont – 5750 Melrose Avenue, M-F 11am-11pm; Sat 6pm-11pm
Neighborhood favorite Larchmont Grill closed at the end of January and over the past month the two-story craftsman has been undergoing a spectacular renovation – complete with new stairs, a new fence and fresh paint all around. Eater LA is reporting that the new place – The Larchmont – will open on Monday, March 11th. They’ll have their work cut out for them over these next 3 or 4 days…still lots of finishing work to do!
