Charles Flemming, the man who has motivated hundreds of Angelenos to get out and get healthy by walking the staircases that are embedded into the hills throughout our City, has a great walk in Griffith Park planned for Super Bowl Sunday morning. Flemming and his group Secret Stairs conducts a monthly walk – and as luck would have it, the February walk conveniently lines up as a way to burn some calories before the Super Bowl festivities kick in.
This month’s hike takes place in the hills of Griffith Park where Flemming promises a little something for everyone! The Hollywood Hills and Hollywood history – stairs, celebrity homes and … the Bat Cave. The walk in Griffith Park takes place Sunday, February 2, at 10:00am, at the Fern Dell entrance to the Park — the corner of Fern Dell and Los Feliz, at approximately 5415 Los Feliz Blvd.
This walk is about 3 miles, where the group will climb a couple of hundred stairs, and make the way back to Fern Dell in time for lunch. The walk is rated about a 3 on a 1-5 difficult scale.

The “Secret Stairs” hike sounds wonderful! I assume that it’s OK to bring my dog – right? (on-leash, of course)
Stu
I will try to find out:) I’ll be back…
Thanks, Mary:
The lead picture looks like dogs are welcome – maybe even off-leash! I know that that’s not allowed – hopefully dogs, on-leash are OK.
Stu
Unfortunately that pic is just of some of my favorite hikers in the pre-coyote education days:) I’ll confirm the leash rules for this hike though…
Hi Stu – YES! dogs on leashes are welcome on the walk. Have fun:)
Thanks, Mary. Dutch and I are looking forward to the
hike.
