Larchmont Village residents Karen and Mike Gilman shares this video of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music’s Adult and Children’s choir caroling at their home this past Saturday.

The caroling is an annual fundraising event for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music to raise funds for its scholarship program. Choir director SJ Selby orchestrated almost 100 adults and children visiting ten homes in Larchmont Village, Ridgewood-Wilton and Windsor Square over the course of two hours on Saturday afternoon.

Each house visited paid $100 for the privilege of a musical performance, and choir members paid to participate as well, explained Karen Gilman, a Larchmont Village Neighborhood Association board member who also helped sign up houses for caroling.

“The funds support our scholarship program, so kids who can’t pay for lessons, can still have music lessons,” said Joe Braun, a veteran Silverlake Conservatory of Music board member and amateur percussionist who plays with several community symphonies, and who hosted the gathering of carolers at his home in Windsor Square. “Thanks to our parent group, the ambassadors, for organizing our outreach and fundraising efforts.”
