The Wilshire Warrior Pony League Shetland All Stars team took second place in the Championship against HART at the “Toluca Shetlandpalooza”–their first ever tournament.

The team played four games in one day–all after arriving at 7:30 AM. All of the games were exciting, and the boys, who only had three practices hitting off the machine, scored 22 runs in their third game.

Shetland 6U Commissioner Mike O’Malley credits the All Star Team’s success to the team work exhibited by the young players and the commitment of Co-Managers Noel Maxam and Aengus James, and coaches Bobby Perez, Tom Eisenhauer, Greg Hoegee, and Scott Hanna.

The “Toluca Shetlandpalooza” gives the Wilshire Warrior League an opportunity to expose their young players to tournament play in a setting that is all about the youngest atheletes. Five and six-year-old players enjoy a lot of baseball in the one day tournament and by the end of it they confidently move forward into Summer Tournament competition.
