3.6 Earthquake Shakes Neighborhood

US Geological Survey’s shake map of last night’s tremor

Did you feel it? Last night at 11:20 p.m., a 3.6 earthquake rattled residents in the neighborhood. The epicenter of the small quake was located 5.4 kilometers northwest of Westwood and 10.5 km deep, according to the US Geological Services (a great link to bookmark, by the way, if you like to find out earthquake details almost immediately when they occur.)

Though considered a light to moderate shake on the USGS map, the quake felt substantial in my wood frame house. Let us know if you felt it too.
