The Beverly Connection may have found the cure for what has always ailed it…finding the perfect anchor store to drive enough retail “traffic” to support the overall complex. The physical structure has suffered from an odd lay out and a parking garage that can be congested.
But who among us wouldn’t put up with a little parking congestion to gain access to a new “concept” Target Store?

LA Racked is reporting that the Beverly Connection will soon be among the first locations for Target’s urban, smaller format Target store – called CityTarget. CityTarget stores will carry fresh food, clothing, and apartment essentials. Items too bulky for urban apartments or for customers to carry will not be stocked in a CityTarget, even if such items are commonly available in traditional Target stores.
The store is slated for a mid-2012 opening – however, the Vornado Retail website calls for a 2013 opening. Based on our knowledge of the Beverly Connection layout…it looks like the CityTarget is moving into the space formerly occupied by Sports Chalet.

I heard a while back that a target was going to open in Hollywood on Sunset near Western. Any buzz on that?
