Attempted Burglaries on Larchmont Early Tuesday Morning

Three stores in Larchmont’s business district were damaged early Tuesday morning, Jan. 8th when vandals smashed doors and attempted to burglarize the locations around 5 a.m.

According to Wilshire Division’s Senior Lead Officer, David Cordova, the front door of Crumbs Bakery was smashed and perpetrators entered the premises but didn’t take anything. The shop owners wisely didn’t leave money in the registers, and a computer onsite was not stolen. The door at Pickett Fences was cracked but due to tough glass the perpetrators did  not gain entry to the store. The door to Landis’ Labyrinth‘s new store at 144 N. Larchmont Bl. was also smashed, but Cordova did not know the extent of loss or damage at the store.

“They know no one is around or open that early in the morning,” Officer Cordova told the Buzz, referring to the perpetrators. However, if any readers happened to be in the area on Tuesday morning and may have leads to cracking this case, Cordova encoourages them to contact Wilshire Division’s Decective Desk immediately at 213-922-8205.

  1. As per our conversation from earlier. We have posted onto your Facebook page where you can read about what happened at your local toy shop yesterday morning. There are also a couple pictures we took with the Wilshire Police Dept. whom were so helpful and kind thru such a horrendous situation for us at the shop on inventory day. When we thought we already had enough work ahead of us for the day….
We are grateful no one was hurt at any of the shops from broken glass or intruder(s).
