Heads-Up Re: Westbound Wilshire Blvd. Closure This Weekend

metro purple line

The folks at Metro are putting word out about a directional closure of westbound Wilshire Blvd. in our area this weekend, to allow for jet grouting (a process that strengthens the soil) related to the Purple Line subway extension project.

From Friday, June 2, at 9 p.m., through Sunday, June 4 at 7 a.m., westbound Wilshire Blvd. will be closed between Crenshaw Blvd. and Windsor Ave. to support jet grouting activities at Wilshire and Crenshaw Blvds.

Lane reductions will start on westbound Wilshire Blvd. at Norton Ave., leading to the closure at Crenshaw. Traffic will be detoured along southbound Crenshaw Blvd. to westbound Olympic Blvd., and then to northbound La Brea Ave.

Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of the construction zone, and access for emergency responders will also be maintained.

Full details are available at https://www.metro.net/projects/notices/notice_purpleline_053117/  If you have any questions, you can call Metro’s 24-hour hotline at 213.922.6934.
