If you’re on Larchmont, you can now stop in to Beyond Yoga, the newest shop to open on Larchmont, located in the former Hardwear Clothing space at 152 N. Larchmont Blvd. The Larchmont store is the brand’s newest, their fourth retail location in LA. In April, Beyond Yoga opened at Westfield Century City, the first stores opened in Santa Monica and Irvine in 2022.
Beyond Yoga’s 1,500 square feet space on Larchmont is filled with mid-luxury activewear for women, men, and toddler leggings. It also has maternity wear, including nursing bras, as well as extended sizes. Most items are made with their signature fabric, Spacedye, a super soft cotton performance fabric with a heathered look that’s also long lasting. Everything Beyond Yoga creates is manufactured in Los Angeles.
Beyond Yoga was founded in 2006 by Michelle Wahler and Jodi Guber Brufsky as an athletic wear brand with a focus on body positivity. The highly successful company was acquired by Levi Strauss & Co. last year and now it is embarking on a brick and mortar rollout of retail locations.
“We are focusing on LA because we founded here and made here, our corporate offices are in Culver City,” said Kori Whitaker, Head of Retail for Beyond Yoga, told the Buzz.
Before opening their own stores, Whitaker explained, customers could find Beyond Yoga clothing in small mom and pop shops or private studios. When they started looking for retail locations the company focused on finding places where their customers could have a quality retail experience, spend time shopping and they really loved the idea of being part of the Larchmont Community.
Store manager Annie Wyrick told the Buzz she lives in the neighborhood and grew up coming to Larchmont. She’s already networking with other local businesses for collaborations. Salt & Straw and Great White will providing items for the grand opening event.
The Grand Opening is Friday, May 12 from 4:00pm – 6:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy birth chart readings from Julia Kelley , scoops from Salt & Straw, & bites from Great White.
