CD13 City Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez stopped by the Larchmont Boulevard Association’s mixer Thursday evening to meet with members and guests of the local business group. He was joined by his Larchmont-area field deputy Karla Martinez. Local business owners discussed a wide range of issues including helping small businesses with escalating rents, traffic, property crime, and homelessness with Soto-Martinez, who said working with local community groups like the LBA is a priority for his office.
The mixer took place at the beauty salon and gallery of longtime Larchmont business owner Romi Cortier, who was recently (according to unofficial results released this week) elected to serve as the Business representative on the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council. A delicious spread was provided by new LBA board member Melissa Farwell, Director of Coordination and Development for California Certified Farmers Markets, which operates the Larchmont Farmers Market.

The Larchmont Boulevard Association, founded in 1965, is a non-profit, volunteer, cooperative organization of businesses, professional firms, and property owners located mainly on Larchmont Blvd. between 1st Street and Melrose Avenue.
