Chevalier’s Open; Go Get Em Tiger Re-Opened

Chevalier’s Books Staff Myra Diehl, Theresa Fung and Miles Parnegg are ready to assist on the bookstore’s opening day today.

Larchmont was a little livelier today when we stopped by the Wednesday Farmers Market earlier today. More shoppers are discovering the easy of shopping mid-week with fewer crowds than the Sunday Market. The are also fewer vendors, but everything you need is there (in our opinion), and there’s a lot fewer people, which makes it a nice alternative for safe, socially distanced shopping.

Also livening the street, Chevalier’s Books is now open at its new location on the west side of the street at 133 N. Larchmont. Stop by and see the fabulous new store. Lots of space for social distancing, and the ever-friendly staff will give you a tour of their new, larger space. (It’s going to be great when we can attend in-person book signings again.) There’s also a wonderful tribute space to Liz Newstat, the legendary bookstore manager who recently passed away.

The lovely bookrack, made by Wiley Pickett, was gifted to Chevalier’s from Pickett Fences who is closing at the end of the month. Owner Joane Pickett told the Buzz she was happy the rack has a new home.

Finally, Go Get Em Tiger re-opened today after a temporary closure. Thanks to Brookside resident Charlie Hess for these photos. Hess told the Buzz he stopped by to pick up a sandwich.
