
A 91 year-old home at 200 S. Muirfield Road in Hancock Park was damaged in a wind-fueled, late afternoon fire today. According to the LA Fire Department, the 4,949 square foot home was fully involved when fire fighters arrived just before 4:30pm. The LAFD was able to contain the fire to the attic of the home, with some collateral damage to the second floor.
61 LA fire fighters took 47 minutes to knock down the fire. There were no injuries. LAFD is currently making an intense effort to salvage/protect belongings. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Any idea how the fire was started? I drove by when it was up in flames, quite a scary scene… glad the LAFD was able to get it out before it spread!
