LA Times’ Final Precinct Vote Map Shows How Your Neighborhood Voted for Mayor

The LA Times’ updated map showing which precincts voted for which mayoral candidates in the June 7 primary election, according to the final certified election results. Purple sections show areas where Karen Bass led the field, and green areas represent majorities for Rick Caruso. The darker the color, the stronger the preference and wider the margin for that candidate.

A few weeks ago, shortly after the first set of election results were released from the June 7 primary election, the LA Times released a precinct-by-precinct map showing how each of those areas voted for mayor.  Today, the Times released a new version of the map, updated to reflect the final certified vote totals issued last week.

The static image above outlines the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council boundaries on the map.  Purple areas represent the precincts won by Karen Bass (the darker the color, the stronger the preference and the wider the margin of victory), who won 43.11% of the overall vote, and the green areas represent the precincts won by Rick Caruso, who finished with 35.99% of the vote.  The two candidates will advance to a runoff in November.

Also, for those who are interested, here’s another static image showing how the precincts in the Mid City West Neighborhood Council area, to our west, voted.

  1. Fascinating to explore the interactive map. Thank you Elizabeth Fuller for the best reporting around on our local elections. In addition to the vote counts & percentages, it’s interesting to compare total turnout in various precincts. Lots of door knocking work to do for Karen Bass in those precincts she won handily but vote totals were approx. 500-800, when other precincts had 1,000+ total votes.
