Holiday decorations are popping up on Larchmont as local shops prepare for what everyone hopes will be a robust holiday shopping season starting on Black Friday, November 24, and Small Business Saturday, November 25.
If you are thinking of shopping on Larchmont, please do. We know our local shops will appreciate seeing you! It’s nice to have a lot more shops on the boulevard this year than there have been in the past few years, and we’ve already noticed Black Friday sales already underway and advertised in a few shop windows.
In addition, we reached out to our local shop owners and managers, and here’s what we’ve heard so far. If we missed your favorite store, let us know. We will keep updating this story because we know there are some special events coming up. More on those later. For now, read on for some Black Friday and Small Business Saturday sales.
Alexander Daas is having a big holiday sale this weekend with 20 % off store-wide, 50% off a second pair, and 75% off a selection of frames.
Shorthand will be giving away 25 gift bags for the first 25 customers who spend at least $20 for Small Business Saturday, owner Rosanna Kvernmo told the Buzz. The bags have all sorts of fun stationery goodies – stickers, pens, notebooks, etc.!
Flicka will be putting Natalie Martin dresses on sale (which NEVER go on sale) for Black Friday, shop owner Kristin Sato told the Buzz.
Village Heights is kicking off the holiday season this weekend with special discounts all weekend long beginning on Black Friday.
“On Small Business Saturday we are doing our first Sip & Shop of the season,” owner Louis Eafalla told the Buzz. “We will be hosting a Sip & Shop every Saturday from now until Christmas!”
Wittmore is offering 30% off all clothing through the weekend, ending Monday.
Midland is running a sale through Saturday, both in-store and online, said owner Paige Appel. Here’s how it works – Spend $100+ get 10% off with code THANKS100; Spend $150+ get 15% off with code THANKS150, and Spend $200+ get 20% off with code THANKS200.
Beyond Yoga is offering 30% off the entire store for Black Friday and up to 75% off select items in-store and online until Giving Tuesday 11/28.
Shopaholic Sample Sales is holding its 15th Annual Thanksgiving Thrifty Thirty Sale starting Black Friday through Monday. Wondering what’s on sale? Here’s the scoop from shop owner Tina Hsuing:
- Monrow shorts, hoodies, and sweatpants that retail from $92-162 will be just $30.
- For Love & Lemons skirts and dresses that retail $149-239 will be just $30.

Donate an unwrapped toy to a child in need and receive 15% off your entire purchase. Toy Drive ends on 12/18.
Did you know the Larchmont Levain Bakery has the largest windows of all the chain’s shops? The windows, once filled with those stunning golden leaves for Fall, now feature holiday windows complete with a pop-out bow and cat.
Both are also featured on the special holiday edition cookie tin you can fill with Levain’s latest cookie, chocolate peppermint, a decadent chocolate cookie made with extra dark French cocoa, semisweet chocolate chunks, and melty peppermint chips. It’s crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside with a cool minty tingle. The new limited-edition holiday tin is for the decadent cookies as well as adorable custom-made felt Levain cookie inside its iconic blue bag. The tin is $15, fill it with cookies for a $5 discount so you get a free cookie explained Omar Perez, store manager.
And, of course, for those looking to get a head start on their own holiday decor, the Wilshire Rotary Christmas tree lot will open Friday at 9 a.m., thanks to an early delivery of trees! The lot will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week until Christmas day. Proceeds support the International Rotary Charities.
Mark your calendars for the Snow Day on Larchmont, Saturday, December 10 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free with an unwrapped game or toy for Santa, who will make sure it goes to a deserving family in Los Angeles.

Wait, there’s one more to put on your calendar. December 2 Tailwaggers is hosting its annual Santa Paws and Mrs. Claws pet photo event next Saturday, December 2 in the parking lot of the store from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be holiday elf booths with complimentary pet treats and a winter wonderland of snow. Proceeds from the event benefit the Tailwaggers Foundation supporting pet rescues and non-profit organizations that provide life-saving treatments to sick and injured animals.
