Larchmont Village Resident Reports Stolen Bumper

The entire bumper of this 2019 Lexus was removed by thieves last month while it was parked on North Bronson Avenue in Larchmont Village.

We’ve heard reports of stolen catalytic converters, but theft of the entire bumper?  This was a first. Larchmont Village resident and Buzz reader Charlie Hutchinson told us the entire front bumper, including the headlights, of his 2019 Lexus had been stolen in mid February.

According to Hutchinson, the car was parked on the 300 block of North Bronson Avenue when it was vandalized. The theft took place sometime between midnight and 5 a.m., February 18-19.

As with catalytic converters, the motive seems to have been the value of the parts. The body shop told Hutchinson the halogen headlights are worth about $1,000 each. The total cost to repair the car was estimated at $10,000. Yikes!

The theft has been reported to LAPD but Hutchinson wanted to warn residents to keep their cars parked inside, if at all possible.
