Tomorrow is the big day for the neighborhood – the Center for Yoga, at 230 ½ N. Larchmont Blvd., revived by a group of neighbors, is re-opening. For everyone who mourned the loss of this beloved local institution, here’s your chance to step up and support it.
If you’re new to yoga or curious about the Center’s classes, the studio is offering four free classes tomorrow; you just have to sign up on the website in advance.
The 11:00 a.m. class is already booked, Diana Buckhantz, one of the new owners, told us, but there’s still space in the other three classes at 1:00 p.m., 2:15 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Check the website for more information on the classes and to register. There is also a ten percent discount on memberships for anyone who signs up this week.
Everyone will be required to wear masks indoors, as required by the County and the City. And everyone will also have to show proof of vaccination, though exceptions will make for verified medical or religious exemptions. All studios have new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, with disease resistant filters. New fans are installed in each room. All classes will be limited in size and mats spaced in a socially distanced manner. Students need to register online in order to secure a guaranteed place in class. Check the Center’s website for more details on its COVID protocols.
We salute the local leadership team for their efforts to bring this business back to Larchmont.
