The Windsor Square Association (WSA) Annual Town Hall Meeting this Thursday will welcome the new First Lady of Los Angeles.
Amy Elaine Wakeland, activist, philanthropist and wife to Mayor Eric Garcetti, is first on the agenda and will speak about the Getty House. While there is no official confirmation yet that the Garcetti family will move into the Getty House on Irving Blvd, rumor seems to have it as a real possibility. The Tudor Revival official residence in historic Windsor Square is quite different from the sleek and green Garcetti residence they used to have in Echo Park that was featured in a 2008 edition of Dwell magazine.
Mary Pickhardt, architect and HPOZ Board Member, will speak on the history of the Windsor Square HPOZ and how the review process works.  She plans to share some preservation success stories and what the neighborhood has learned in the eight years the HPOZ has been in place. The WSA will be interested in hearing  comments on the effect the HPOZ has had on the neighborhood, and how the HPOZ might be improved.
