Lassen’s Natural Foods & Vitamins Signs Lease at Wilshire La Brea

2014-05-12

CBRE together with illi Commercial Real Estate completed a 12,000-square-foot lease with Lassen’s Natural Foods & Vitamins at the new Wilshire La Brea, the mixed-use property located on the south east corner of Wilshire and La Brea. The property features 478 luxury apartments above a total of 40,000 square feet of ground floor retail and restaurant space. The Lassen’s lease is the first announced for the property.

Owner, Essex Property Trust, was represented by CBRE’s Timothy Bower while Lassen’s was represented by illi Commercial Real Estate’s Eric Friedland in the nearly $5.6-million transaction. Bower confirmed that Lassen’s will occupy a large chunk of the La Brea facing retail frontage. Parking for the retail businesses is separate from the parking allocated for tenants.

This Lassen’s location at Wilshire La Brea is the 11th for the family owned market. The Lassen family opened its first store in Camarillo in 1971, and currently they have one Los Angeles location in the Los Feliz area and another under construction on Sunset Boulevard in the Echo Park area.

An organic food and vitamin store should be a good fit for the building and for the Sycamore Square neighborhood. The project is expected to open by the end of the year.
