Lou Amdur, formerly of Lou wine bar on Vine, has officially landed! EaterLA is reporting that next week he will start building out the space adjacent to Sqirl on Virgil as a gourmet market and wine bar to be called Lou’s Wine and Provisions. The plan is to create a space that allows flow between the two shops – and after the renovation, Sqirl will have room to offer even more of their delicious jams.
The Virgil Village location, just north of Melrose, was most recently a neighborhood market. The construction will require that Sqirl close from August 1 – August 15. Target date for the Grand Opening/Re-Opening for both Lou’s Wine and Provisions and Sqirl is August 16.
Lou was a local neighborhood favorite restaurant. Amdur chose to sell Lou in March of 2012 to Troy Stevens and the restaurant continues forward as BOSC – same chef as Lou, Farmers’ Market fresh fare, delicious meats and a special selection of wines. (Great reviews on Yelp, too.)

actually BOSC is gone now and an amazing Italian restaurant is opening this Monday Vincenzo’s I think is the name.
Love Italian food, Penny. Just wondering how you know this restaurant is “amazing” if it doesn’t open until Monday. Is it related to the Santa Monica Vincenzo’s? Thanks for the tip!
Lou, the person, is too self-centered. So I have little interest in his new store.
