March 3 Elections Certified; Ryu and Raman Head to Runoff

On Friday, March 27, results of the March 3 elections were finally certified for Los Angeles County, with ballots of more than 2 million voters counted.  And it is now official that in City Council District 4, incumbent David Ryu and challenger Nithya Raman will head to a runoff in November.  (Ryu would have had to win at least 50% of the vote to win the seat outright in March.)   (All graphics below from the LA County Registrar/Recorder – City Clerk’s website.)

There will also be a runoff in CD 10, where Mark Ridley-Thomas also got just a bit more than 44% of the vote and will face off with second-place finisher Grace Yoo in the fall.

Here are the numbers from several other key races:

And finally, in the County Supervisor contests, there will also be a runoff in the 2nd District, between Herb Wesson and Holly Mitchell.
