Want to get involved in your local neighborhood? Here’s a good opportunity: if you live, work, own property within Mid City West Community Council’s borders you could qualify to serve on the volunteer neighborhood council.
Eligible board members can also have a stake in the neighborhood as a community interest stakeholder (defined as a person who affirms a substantial and ongoing participation within the neighborhood council’s boundaries and who may be in a community organization such as, but not limited to, educational, non-profit and/or religious organizations).
The current board will vote to select an eligible stakeholder to fill the vacancy at the next regular board meeting. All candidates will have an opportunity to present to the board and are encouraged to notify the Executive Council, of your intent to run in advance of the board meeting. All interested candidates must attend the board meeting on July 14 to be eligible.
The appointed board member must complete all ethics, funding and code of conduct training required by the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment and attend general board and committee meetings on a monthly basis.
