Early tomorrow morning, most likely in the rain, Wilshire Rotary volunteers and Christmas tree lot workers will be unloading a shipment of 600 trees to restock the Christmas tree lot. Noble Fir and Douglas Fir trees, the lot’s most popular varieties, are coming tomorrow to make sure there are plenty of trees for the holiday. These new trees will be added to the 750 trees that opened the lot last week.
It’s good time for a re-stocking, since Sunday was a record day for tree sales. The Wilshire Rotary has been operating the lot for the last 16 years. All proceeds from the lot are donated to charities supported by the Wilshire Rotary.
We stopped by the lot earlier today to see and smell the inventory…and it’s too bad our cell phones can’t capture the delicious smell of these wonderful trees, which are healthy and moist, thanks to recent rains. (And more rain is expected tomorrow.)
The lot is open from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. every day until Christmas, and there’s lots of other holiday decor available, too…such as garlands and snowmen and reindeer made from tree logs. And don’t forget the mistletoe!
