New DOT Website Offers Variety of Info and Reporting Options

DOT

Los Angeles’ Department of Transportation recently came out with a new interactive website that makes finding traffic and transportation information available in one easy online visit.

The new site offers easy links to report broken traffic signals and stop signs, broken meters, even needed pothole and street light repairs under Myladot.com. There were 2943 requests for repairs tallied online today so hard to know how quickly they’ll get fixed, but a detailed map shows where repairs are needed so one won’t make a duplicate request.

For bus riders, the LADOT Transit Services section can help you find a route for your trip, find schedules and maps, buy passes and tickets, and get notified by email if your bus route has delays or  a service change.

The DOT sight also includes a page to locate public parking lots near your destination, traffic conditions (similar to those you’ll find in your smart phone ‘traffic’ app with green, yellow and red lines showing traffic conditions on local streets), parking permit information, and bicycle services web links for bike riders looking for bike routes, maps and many bicycle resources. You can even pay your parking ticket online.

The new DOT site puts much information at one’s fingertips clearly and accessibly –  hopefully helping Angelenos deal with a critical factor in their daily lives: traffic.
