Next Redistricting Process: LAUSD

 

Even though the political mapping of LA is still not over, there’s another phase of redistricting that is underway and will be completed by March 1st:  that of drawing new LAUSD school district boundaries.  As with legislative and city council districts, school district boundaries are adjusted every 10 years, when new census data is released. Current boundaries have the Greater Wilshire area divided into two districts: 4 and 3 as seen in the LAUSD map. Currently John Burroughs Middle School and 3rd Street Elementary sit in District 3, while Kim Elementary and VanNess Elementary lie in District 4.

The LAUSD Redistricting Commission invites you to attend one of the upcoming community meetings to provide input on how school district boundaries should be redrawn. Here’s the upcoming community meeting schedule:
