Pop Up COVID Testing on Larchmont Today at Tailwaggers Parking Lot

Nurse Vanessa Greene and her colleague Olga are offering free COVID testing on Larchmont at the Tailwaggers parking lot until 5 p.m. today, weather permitting. They will be back again on Sunday and Monday too.

Just in time to make sure your holidays are safer, local nurse Vanessa Greene has set up a pop up testing site on Larchmont Blvd. LA County Public Health reported today’s case count is 8,633, up from yesterday’s count of 6,509! Tuesday’s count was 3,052. The positivity rate is 15%. Frequent testing is one way to help stop the spread.

Greene was at the Wednesday Larchmont Farmers Market and told us she’d be back on Larchmont today. However, due to the rain, she’s relocated to covered area in the Tailwaggers pet shop parking lot, thanks to owner Todd Warner, who offered the space to keep everyone dry.

Greene is offering the PCR test with results delivered within 12 hours. She’s planning to stay all day, but if the rain really picks up and she leaves, she’s advised that anyone can still get a free test at Firmalab, Inc. located at 870 Vine Street, LA 90038 until 5 p.m. It’s the same test, also free.

Greene explained that a new state law, SB510, passed in October, mandates that during a pandemic all testing is free.  Green said her company is also being paid by the state to set up the pop up testing site. She chose Larchmont because she grew up in the neighborhood.

Today, Buzz co-publisher Liz Fuller found another pop up testing site at 2nd and Oxford, located next to Charles Kim Elementary School. According to Fuller, there was a very short line and ample street parking. She also spotted another site at the Wilshire and Western subway stop at the northeast corner of the Wilshire/Western intersections. There are other site popping up around the city, and should be free.
