Reward for Information in Copper Wire Thefts Approved

The City Council approved the Cooper Wire Theft Reward motion for Council District 4 on January 4, 2013. The motion was originally introduced by Councilmember Tom LaBonge in early December. An aggregate sum of $25,000 was allotted for this reward.

Councilmember Tom LaBonge offered the following friendly amendment to the motion which Councilmember Englander approved:

  1. Reward not to exceed $2,000.00 per incident that leads to a conviction in a cooper wire theft in Council District #4 only.
  2. The reward will be paid out of the Street Lighting Maintenance Assessment Fund as opposed to the General Fund.

Anyone with information in Wilshire Division, should call Detective Veda Young at (213) 922-8205.

On a related note, at the January 9th GWNC meeting the Councilmember’s office noted that all Hancock Park lights have been repaired.
