Halloween is coming to Larchmont. We are starting to see local businesses and retailers getting ready for what seems like a month of celebration culminating with the Larchmont Family Fair on October 30.
In their monthly rotation of Salt and Straw’s ice cream flavors, Head Ice Cream Maker Tyler Malek embraces the spirit of Halloween with his “Spooktacular” series that adds The Great Candycopia, Dracula’s Blood Pudding, Essence of Ghost, Jack o’ Lantern Pumpkin Sherbet, and Love Potion Sorbet to this month’s flavor lineup alongside the creamery’s classic specialties.
These flavors are now available by the scoop and pint at the Larchmont Village store.
- Dracula’s Blood Pudding – Halloween is all about thrill and this flavor is no exception. This intoxicatingly impelling ice cream is both delectable and frightful, as an assortment of spices and cream are cooked into real blood pudding with a hint of chicken liver and then spun into ice cream. Dare to try it!
- The Great Candycopia – You won’t have to waste any time deciding which candy you like best this year: big chunks of housemade nougat caramel peanut bars, chocolate malt balls, toffee chocolate bars, and peanut butter cups combine easily in a butterscotch base to give you all of your favorites in one scoop. It’s every chocoholic’s dream.
- Essence of Ghost – A thrillingly light and chillingly cold flavor that will make you think you’ve just tasted an apparition. Frigid sherbet quickly gives way to lingering smokiness, while notes of bitterness keep your taste buds guessing as to what they just experienced.
- Jack o’ Lantern Pumpkin Sherbet – Just one bite of this classic pumpkin juice sherbet will transport you to memories of sitting with family and scooping out pumpkin flesh. This classic and nostalgic scoop is the perfect flavor for those obsessed with all things pumpkin spice.
- Love Potion Sorbet – Spiked with a secret compound of aphrodisiac fruits & spices, this concoction was brewed to exactitude in our ice creamatory. Coincidently dangerous and lovely, momentarily wicked and perpetually beautiful.
