Special Shopping Hours for Seniors

Although all residents over the age of 65 are strongly discouraged from leaving their homes, and should consider ordering food and other items online and/or delivered whenever possible, many essential retailers have begun offering special shopping hours for seniors.  The following graphic, shared yesterday by City Council Member David Ryu, shows stores that have implemented special hours at the beginning of their business days for seniors (and in some cases such as the disabled and pregnant women).  (Ryu also said in a social media post yesterday that “seniors who need help accessing food can also contact my office at [email protected] for help arranging food delivery.)

Update after this story was originally published:

Bristol Farms has just announced that starting today, “all stores will offer a special shopping hour for seniors only. From 6am-7am daily, we will open early to better serve our customers aged 62 and over. We also remind our senior shoppers that every Tuesday, they receive 10% off their purchases.”
