Three Opportunities to Tell the City What You Think

As part of its public outreach efforts on a wide variety of topics, the city and its various agencies often conduct public surveys.  Last month, we helped promote a survey about the proposed Purple Line Transit Neighborhood Plan, and this month we’ve (so far) run across three new surveys on other issues many people may be interested in.  So if you’re interested in learning more about these, and telling the city what you think…here are the three latest opportunities.

Bike Share Survey & Focus Group

If you’ve tried one of the new bike share programs in LA or Santa Monica, the Southern California Association of Governments would like to hear about your experiences.  Responses will be used by SCAG, LA Metro and the City of Santa Monica to improve the bike share programs…and one lucky respondent among those who weigh in by April 8 will win a $50 VISA gift card.

In addition, the entities running the survey are also searching for people to participate in focus groups about bike sharing, during the month of April.

Metro Public Participation Plan

This one’s a bit more meta – a chance for the public to provide input on how Metro collects public input.  Yes, until April 12, you can give your $.02 on Metro’s Draft Public Participation Plan.  The Plan guides all of Metro’s efforts to collect public input on things like changes to fares, bus and rail service, new planning and construction projects, and other programs, plans and initiatives.  The Plan is updated every three years, as part of Metro’s wider Title VI Program Update, required by the Federal Transit Administration.

And if that’s not enought to excite you, everyone who weighs in by April 8 will be entered in a drawing to win a $50 VISA gift card.

Tourism Master Plan Survey

And finally, this one is probably less for our locally-based readers than our readers’ friends and relatives who have recently visited the city.  More specifically, the Los Angeles Department of Convention and Tourism Development is conducting “research of recent visitors to better understand the destination experience and how Los Angeles can better serve your needs, wants and desires.”

The goal is to “make Los Angeles an even better place to visit.”  You (and the friends and relatives you forward it to) can find the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LATMPVSE.
