RackedLA.com is reporting that Walgreens will begin construction on the space formerly occupied by Borders at Sunset and Vine. Walgreens’ plan is to bring their high-end concept drugstore to Hollywood – much like others they have built out in Chicago (on State Street) and New York (on Wall Street). The green light on construction comes after the drugstore chain gained approval on a liquor license this week.

This Walgreens will have lots of unique features…including a nail salon and possibly a sushi bar. With 23,500 square feet of space, Walgreens has the chance to re-create the magic of the legendary Hollywood drugstore Schwab’s on the legendary corner of Sunset and Vine*.
