TortoiseLand Celebration and Fundraiser Sunday

Neighbor and TortoiseLand founder Kevin Proulx invites everyone to Tortoiseland this Sunday, from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m., for a festive open house.

Our local tortoise rescue is now officially a 501(c)(3) non profit organization whose mission is to rescue and rehabilitate these amazing creatures and to serve as a education center. To celebrate, this Sunday, from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., founder Kevin Proulx is holding a festive open house with food, music and TortoiseLand swag.

Proulx has been hard at work renovating the various habitats for the dozens of animals that live at TortoiseLand. There’s even a tortoise mountain constructed by David Serrano, long time friend and contractor who has been working with Proulx for years on improvements to TortoiseLand. Vivid, stunning murals created by muralists Henry Goods and Mia Bunn decorate the walls around Proulx’s backyard tortoise sanctuary.

“Everyone’s invited to come and visit our newly renovated space,” Proulx told the Buzz. “We will have a taco truck, live music from Billy Joseph and the Army of Love and lots of TortoiseLand giveaways.”

If you can’t make it you can also watch the Grand Opening Gala live on YouTube Channel next Sunday starting at 2:30 p.m. by clicking this link:
