Arrest Made of Robbery Suspect

An arrest was made Tuesday, July 3rd of a robbery suspect on the 300 block of North Windsor Boulevard. According to the LAPD, a male Hispanic assaulted a female mail courier and proceed in an attempt to take the postal van.

A concerned citizen notified the police immediately. The suspect ran from the police and entered a home on the same block and attempted to steal a bicycle. A perimeter was set up and the suspect was taken into custody.

LAPD Olympic Division Senior Lead Officer Joseph Pelayo notes that the immediate reaction neighbors took to notify LAPD played a major role in apprehending the suspect. He applauds the Larchmont Village community on the outstanding job they do of looking out for neighbors and getting involved.

  1. Oh hey. I was the “concerned citizen.” (Or at least I was one of them. They had me identify the suspect when they caught him.) The mail carrier wasn’t female, though, not sure why the story says that.

    1. Good for you for getting involved! Glad they caught him:)
      The female carrier description came from LAPD…maybe they just checked the wrong box on the report?
