There’s an elephant in the room at the new Devall Design & Home, but this one is something you’ll want to talk about out in the open: the giant 12 x 7 foot pachyderm is a piece of digital wall paper.
Designer Susan Devall quietly opened up shop at 562 N. Larchmont this week bringing her own stamp of modern design to the northern block of the boulevard. Creating two rooms full of an eclectic assortment of antiques, one-of-a-kind finds, and urban industrial design, Devall hopes the spot will be a “…treasured little place to find things you’re not going to find elsewhere in town.”
Devall has worked the past 15 years in Los Angeles designing interiors, renovating exteriors, and building furniture, doors and windows for clients across the city. When this storefront location became available on Larchmont, Devall, who recently moved to a house on North Norton, grabbed the opportunity to pull together  her assortment of home gear and settle down on the boulevard. “I’m a real neighborhood girl”, Devall shared. “I like knowing people around me, and am excited about being on Larchmont.” She likes the location so much in fact that she’s convinced a friend to open a new clothing boutique just a few doors south of her spot on Larchmont.
Devall, a mother of two twenty-somethings, is throwing an Opening Celebration in the parking lot next to her business on September 22nd. The event will feature a DJ spinning music, food trucks and cocktails and is open to the public. RSVP to the event at [email protected].
