Helicopter Presence Escalates

Los Angeles
More Helicopters, More Noise

Helicopters have had a presence in our neighborhood for as long as any of us can remember.  For one thing, the Larchmont Village/Windsor Square/Hancock Park corridor has to be flown over to get anywhere West from the police heli-pad downtown.   Often times our skies feel like a super-highway for the eyes in the sky.  Many of you in Windsor Square may have experienced the 3-hour heli-visit from the LAPD  earlier this summer responding to an armed robbery.  3-hours!  From 10P-1A…it was like the guest who wouldn’t go home at the end of a lovely dinner.   And yet, what a remarkable asset to help fight crime!  Just a little loud…

The increase in helicopter traffic seems to involve our skies at every turn.  Check out this article – it gives a little background as to what’s going on up there!  Perhaps even a call to action – as you will read there are very few limits on where they can fly, how low they can fly and how long they can hover.
