Alert: Larchmont Boulevard Water Pipe Break

A water pipe burst at the corner of Larchmont Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard this morning before 8:30A, on Larchmont.  LA Dept of Water & Power is on the scene.  A worker said that the pressure in a pipe built up, burst and caused the damage to the street – as seen in the photo above. There’s also damage along the curb line…it looks like 10 feet of street along the curb was pushed up, too.

Prior to starting excavation, the worker thought the repair could take anywhere from 2-6 hours – depending upon the amount of damage.  Expect major traffic delays on Larchmont and Beverly through the mid-afternoon today.  Repairs will necessitate closing off at least the southbound lanes of Larchmont, south of Beverly – in front of the Coldwell Banker North offices.

Water service is unavailable to some Larchmont businesses.
