An eco-friendly store-to-door delivery service that will hand-select fresh food and get it to you lickety split? Yep – all natural, powered by some strong legs and an IZip electric bike, every product personally selected, packed, ported and then unpacked on your kitchen counter for you. It’s every cook’s dream. And Fresh Food Bike is making it a reality.
A personal food concierge, owner/operator Tohid Naeem, shops your grocery list at Whole Foods on Fairfax and 3rd, and delivers to your kitchen. Or you can go for “curbside pickup” if you’d prefer the drive-by method of shopping. Currently a one-man operation but expecting to have a fleet as business grows, Fresh Food Bike needs about three hours notice, will take orders via email or telephone, and deliver anywhere in the greater Hancock Park / Larchmont / Mid-Wilshire area (FYI: we’re about 2 1/2 miles from the the Fairfax store when you’re calculating charges.)
Sounds to us like the real benefit of the service is in the careful attention and selection Naeem provides on any order – be it your weekly grab bag of milk, cookies and TP – or all the special ingredients to put together an ossobuco for guests on Saturday night. He’ll even pick up the flowers. Or put together a care-package of goodies for your friend stuck at home with the flu.
Naeem used to be the Estate Manager for Nicolas Cage’s former Hancock Park life, so he knows Larchmont Village well. But his real love is in foraging for food at the market and peddling it, through the neighborhood, right to your door.FreshFoodBike.com 7 am – 11 pm daily Call or text 310-734-8322 More about it on LAist
