Ficus getting the annual trim

If you happened to visit the Larchmont business district today you no doubt heard the loud chorus of four chainsaws buzzing overhead. The annual trimming of the boulevard’s ficus trees was underway with the east side of the street closed for much of the day and giant branches splayed across the walkways. The crew, Trimming Land Company, was expecting to work the west side of the street Tuesday, again with four trucks and trimmers on hand at once. They will finish up sometime on Wednesday.

Isaac, the TLC foreman, says they haven't found anything unusual in the trees' canopies, other than the birds!

Merchants are all open but it’s difficult to access some of them at times. Parking is blocked off along one side of the road at a time, and the back-up of traffic has many horns honking. But it’ll all be over soon enough and the ficus will be sporting their well-coifed bowl haircuts for the holiday season.
