Let me just say that after researching camps for the Larchmont Buzz, I have a tremendous amount of admiration for the folks who dream up different camps and for those who give them titles. Here are a few that are close to home:
Children’s Playhouse Theater, located at Larchmont Charter in West Hollywood, offers a series of camps all summer long from “Be a Rockstar” to “Where are we Van Goghing”. Hours are 9Am to 3PM with an 8:30AM early drop-off option. Rates are $275 per week with some financial aide and family discounts available. For more information, call: 310-283-0343.
The Hollywood Schoolhouse, located in Hollywood, offers a range of one week camps from “Barnyard Palooza” to “Time Travel”. Camps run from 9AM to 4PM all summer long and there are varying rates, based on how many days a week your child plans on attending and whether a sibling is tagging along. The standard rate, however, is $300 per week.
Art Works and Hands on Third are located in Larchmont village. Hands on Third offers “Project Funway” (sewing activities) from 10AM to 2:30PM on weekdays during the summer break. The price is $395 per week, plus a $55 materials fee. Art Works offers an art camp on weekdays from 10AM to 3PM and that costs $455 per week.
And don’t forget that Hancock Park Elementary School offers camp every week during the summer break from 9AM to 4PM. Activities are geared toward each age range.
The art camps at LACMA are already sold out.
