Two New Coffee Spots for your Local Fix

There’s a new coffee spot on the LACMA campus these days – but the secret here may not be the coffee but the milkshakes which you can order with a spike of booze.    C + M (Coffee and Milk) opened in the main courtyard of the museum where Patina once operated Pentimento, and with a liquor license in tow they’ve come up with the creative milk and spirits combination. We’ll have to try one before we make any calls on that combo – but what better place to do it than in the sleek airy interior with its white Eames for Herman Miller chairs, smooth coffees and fancy pastries – surrounded by buildings just brimming with art to be explored.

Just south of Wilshire on La Brea, Muse on 8th has opened in the former Massimo location across from Rascal. The corner coffee and lunch spot is old-school meets clean and comfy and offers local artisanal baked goods and sandwiches, wraps and salads. Muse features local artists on its walls, and this month you’ll find the works of Chris Bonno. If it’s anything like it’s cousin Muse on Santa Monica Blvd, now closed, Muse 0n 8th will be a real neighborhood hangout where you can feel good working on your latest novel, or meeting up with friends for a quick cup of Joe.
