Within the 5 Mile Radius of Hollywood Pies!

I am always on the look-out for great pizza…ok…even mediocre pizza will do.  I am not that picky when it comes to pizza. I am, however,  gastronomically astute enough to know the difference! And recently our family discovered a unique and delicious Chicago-style pizza place that just might mean we don’t have to stop at the Giordanos near Midway Airport in Chicago to have them box up 2 frozen pizzas for us to take on our flight back to LA anymore.

For Chicago-style pizza fans, finding good deep dish pizza outside of Chicago is reason to celebrate. Hollywood Pies is the real deal. Tasty crust, perfectly seasoned sauce and the cheese was delicious and distinctly stretchy.  Everything was just the way great Chicago-style pizza is supposed to be. Even the feel of the box was right – it was heavy!

Hollywood Pies recently relocated from the western edge of Downtown to Robertson Boulevard, just South of Pico. They have a very large delivery zone – a 5 mile radius. And as luck would have it, our neighborhood falls within that 5 mile radius! We picked our pizza up…it was quick and easy.

There are a few things to be aware of when ordering from Hollywood Pies:

• Delivery time can take 60-120 minutes from the time you order. Plan accordingly.
• Hollywood Pies’ Robertson location is a 15 minute drive from our area – pick-up is curbside and you will get 15% off on your order.
• Know the menu so when you get them on the phone you can order away.
• Their hours are expanding…but currently they are open Tu-F: 11a-2p for lunch (new!); Tues-Thurs: 4:30pm-9:30pm; Fri-Sat: 4:30pm-10pm;  Sun: 5pm-9pm. Hollywood Pies is CLOSED MONDAY.

Chicago-style pizza isn’t for everyone…luckily for us we have the best NY-Style pizza in LA right on Larchmont in Village Pizza. And Z Pizza serves up some delicious and fresh style pizzas. When you are in the mood for a heartier pie – consider yourself fortunate be in the Hollywood Pies delivery zone!
